The RDC has a SyntorX 9000 UHF radio in it with FRS frequencies to communicate with other trains and the dispatcher. It also has a Dallee sound system, and uses three 12V DC Deep cycle batteries for power, two hooked up to give 24V DC for the 4qd controller+ Permanent Magnet Motors. There are two motors, one on each inner axle on each truck. It has a Motorola VHF repeater to transmit and receive communications form FRS UHF radios to my handheld VHF radio to relay communications when I am away from the RDC. It has four strobes for all four corners and two yellow beacons. There are antennas on both ends, markers lights, four 10-Watt quartz crystal lights (two on each end,) and an additional four ditch lights with alternating wig-wag pattern. There is also florescent lighting in the coach section. It's about halfway completed. I spent maybe close around $3,400 so far on the RDC for building supplies and parts. I have done all the work myself, except the trucks where made by Mountain Car Co.
