The Alaska Railroad purchased three retired Pullman cars in 1955 to be used in overnight service between Anchorage and Fairbanks. With its single compartment converted to a Conductor's office, #92 usually brought up the rear. By the late 1960's sleeper service was discontinued and the car was surplused. #92 was sold to Federal Surplus in 1980 and transferred to the museum site in Palmer before moving to the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry.
