Gary Chambers

Gary Chambers states, "These pictures came from my Aunt Margarat's collection. She worked several jobs in Alaska after WW2 and would visit my dad up there. I'm sure the Curry pictures were from 1956-57, while the other pictures were earlier.

My mom and her first husband (Red) moved from Hebron, Indiana to Alaska in the early 1940's. Red w started working for the railroad soon after. I am not sure when my dad landed at Broad Pass, I'd guess around 1950. I have an autobiography laying around somewhere that he was constantly working on. My dad died of a heart attack at the age of 83 at the local college attending his writing class. I'm sure there is a lot of history and dates in that autobiography. I will look for it.

My mom was done with home schooling so my parents moved to Denver in 1959, I was born in 1957. My dad was able to move his federal job with the railroad to the Federal Post Office in Denver without losing his benefits. We went back to Alaska often and I still have our cabin at Broad Pass.
