imageStill in the MP A8 mile just upstream from the first of the remains, we see an Arch Bar truck (truck or trucks is a railroad term for wheel sets) and a mostly wooden flat car, most likely a Panama flat. There is another Arch Bar truck in this spot not pictured, my guess is both trucks came from this flat car. If you look closely to the flat car, you can see part of the truss rods used to support the car. This dates the car back over 100 years along with the Barber-Coleman Arch Bar trucks. In some cases it's very clear that some of these cars have been here longer than others, probably from the 1940s maybe through the end of operations as this car looks to have been placed many years prior to others. 04/24/2014.
