The train depot in Palmer is one of four remaining original Alaska Railroad depots. The last train to stop here was the Colony Christmas train in December of 2008. The little locomotive is a Baldwin saddle tank engine last used in the Premier Coal Mine near Moose Creek, it was salvaged in the 1950s by a Palmer resident. The location is MP A6.5. 04/24/2014.
