gofundme.com

On November 11, 2020 the Friends of the Tanana Valley Railroad signed with the City of Nenana to become the new caretakers of the Alaska Railroad Depot in Nenana, Alaska. This building is one of the original Alaska Railroad depots, built in 1922.  Through the 98 years it has become an icon of Nenana, a place of celebration, a supporting structure for both the railroad and the community, and a key piece of history for the Alaska Railroad.  The Friends of the Tanana Valley Railroad would like to see the depot return as a museum, free for everyone to learn about the history of the railroad, how it played a role in building the Alaska we know today, and how it supported many communities like Nenana.
