Let me tell you about my Palm Tungsten E repair

The upper right hand corner on my Palm Tungsten E had completely stopped working. Looking at Palm's website, I saw their repair charge was a flat $125, regardless of problem. Now moments like this make me incredibly angry. You know the repair doesn't cost that much, but what else can you do? Of course, the Palm site asks you to considering buying the latest model (yeah right!).

After much fruitless searching for other repair shops, I finally turned to eBay. There I found Shawn Lux. He claimed to be able to fix your PDA (personal data assistant) for a more reasonable price. He had a 100% positive feedback rating so I sent him an email describing my Tungsten E's problem. He quoted the repair as a digitizer replacement at $30.00 plus return shipping of $3.85. No freaking way! This was just too good to be true.

Throwing caution to the wind, I sent my precious little baby to him via priority mail on a Saturday. I also told him the power button was acting flaky and that he should fix this too. I got a reply from Shawn the following Monday saying he had received and fixed the unit! He added a $5.00 charge for fixing the power button. Shawn accepts Paypal so in a burst of excitement, I sent him $38.85. Back in the dark recesses of my mind, I wondered if this rascal would keep by Tungsten E as well as run off with my money.

Later in the day on Monday, I received an e-mail saying my Tungsten E had been shipped using USPS's Click-N-Ship. It provided me with a tracking number so I could check on the status of the delivery. Whew! This made me feel a little better about the whole situation. On Wednesday, miracle of miracles, my Tungsten E arrived back home in perfect working condition! It had been gone a total of four days! Unbelieveable!

If you haven't noticed, most electronic devices today have become disposable. Repair costs frequently exceed half the purchase price of the item so you are expected to throw the old one away and buy a new one. Finally, Shawn Lux breaks this mold! The bottom line is he is a trustworthy, reasonably priced, and knowledgeable PDA repair guy. He has earned my unqualified recommendation.
