Steam Locomotive #557 Guestbook

Comments:
While visiting my mother and two sisters in August of 2017 we visited the #557 restoration site. I am a 40 year railroader for the BNSF Railway Company and was excited to see this great undertaking in progress. I don't know much about steam engines but the passion, determination, and enthusiasm you all have for restoring a historical piece of history is truly inspiring. The attention to detail and workmanship was easy to see. I hope I can visit again to see the progress and maybe even ride the #557 once in service. Thanks for allowing us to witness a wonderful and exciting part of Alaska's history.

Was on an Alaskan cruise last year and finally saw where you are located in Wasilla, Alaska. Unfortunately, never was able to see the project first hand. Are the cruse lines/ tour bus operators aware of your project? :!cool:

A huge thank you to all of you working on this magnificent railroad artifact! May it be back on the rails soon. Those of us in the process of saving another Alaska Railroad gem, the SS Nenana, are especially respectful of your passion and persistence in the face of overwhelming odds!

Cannot wait to ride behind and photograph the 557 when it's completed. A photo charter would be nice.
