Gas electric railcar #215 at Birchwood yards.  Photographer Gene Adoline was an enlisted man in the Army at Ft. Richardson in 1954.  Of his photograph, he recalls, "I knew not what this unit was but I did recognize the fact that it was unusual. I posed in the picture.  This unit was in a yard that had all sorts of old equipment which appeared to be stored  and awaiting disposition.  If I would have had any idea of the value of the old equipment stored here, I would have burnt up a lot of Kodak Film.  Alas. being young and on the move, I was lucky to have gotten what I have."
