Repainted booster P-30 being used for the annual Nordic Ski Club Ski Train.
It is shown here at Grandview on February 23 2002. The ARR has been
sending an electrician on each of the special trains, just in case anything
goes wrong. This paid off since the P-30 failed on the return
trip to Portage. GP40 number 3014 was hooked up for head end power
instead. The P-30 did run fine two weeks later on the second ski
train. As of March 2002 the P-30 is in the back shop having the trucks
replaced under it. They are removing the 6 wheeled trucks, and replacing
them with 4 wheeled trucks.
