Winter weather in Anchorage on December 6, 2002.   No snow, no frost, no ice, 47 degrees F. as Alaska Railroad # 2001 basks in the mid day low sun.   This work  horse reflects the range of weathering suffered by Alaska locomotives in  the faded paint and dirt accumulation.   For modelers trying to capture  this effect PolyS #414221 CSX Blue and CNW Yellow will get you there.

A long way from Montana, former Butte Anaconda & Pacific GP38-2 2001 does a bit of switching in Anchorage, May 11, 1988.
My photo sources tell me the reason why the two 38's were shipped north is they were afrai of the Montana Anacondas, being they are big snakes.
