Interesting train came in yesterday with two cabooses (bonus) and gondolas empty? Seward, (5/6/22)

Mike Gerenday adds - It's the company work train. The gondolas are actually ballast hoppers and are some of the oldest cars in service having been built in the 1950s. Passenger season is days away and by the looks of it the work train is going to dump ballast for the surfacing gangs. That is cool to catch two cabooses!

Roy Foster adds - I worked for the Alaska Railroad in the early 70's and actually ran the 3000 series engines (EMD GP40-2) when they were brand new! Yes those are ballast cars and they were old when I was working on the Alaska Railroad!
