Here's some more MOW cars that were in Talkeetna on a cold December 17, 2022. Note the tie loads. This is the usual way old ties are hauled to Birchwood. The flat cars have T shaped posts on the ends of the cars and ties are stacked in this fashion.
These loads are not often seen. One box cars is a WWII era troop kitchen conversion with an ex U.S. Navy boxcar. The flat car with sides usually carries buckets of spikes, tie plates and other track jewelry. There are several flat cars used in this fashion.
