This group of pics comes after my assignment in Whittier. I bid into the “TOFC” mechanic spot in the Anchorage yard. These guys are responsible for loading, securement and offloading all freight transported by the ARRC.
TOFC is an acronym for “Trailer Over Flat Car”

TOFC does a LOT of rebar and pipe offloading. This is an old Kaldness forklift with a special pipe/rebar removing attachment for offloading open top hoppers.
