Refurbishment

On August 29, 1999 bi-level entertainment cars RRIX 9012 and 9013, glass-domed "guest car" coaches 3 and 4, and RRCX 9003 and FT 9004 were seen in Denver at Union Station.  These cars were delivered by Union Pacific to Fort Lupton on September 2. Two more glass domed coaches, guest cars 1 and 2, and bi-level cars FT 9014 and RRIX 9011, moved to Fort Lupton the next day.

The first step stripped the cars of the FFT scheme.  The Alaska Railroad decided they could live with the interior colors for the time being, therefore no new interior work was done.  As the insides get worn through usage, the railroad will redecorated with something more Alaskan.

Mike McGowen says, "The two high level cars trucks are being on. The other white car along with them is thought to be one of the Ex CNW high level Parlor cars used on the 400 trains" "The other shot is of the low level cars in primer. Looks like all this work has been done outside." 11/11/99
