The Alaska Railroad supports a wide variety of industries in Alaska
and the lower 48 states as well as international interests. The mainline
transports various commodities such as oil, gravel, coal and tractor-trailer
containers. The Port of Whittier serves as a connection with the rest of
the railroads in the lower 48 states via sea-going railroad barges from
Seattle. The pages below are a few examples of the customers the railroad
